Skills

  1. Expertise in translation. Running my own translation business for the last 13 years taught me the skills of time management, self-discipline, and working at a fast pace to deliver high-quality content before established deadlines.
  2. Expertise in editing/proofreading. 8 years of freelance editing experience and 2 years of paper evaluation for Pearson and Brainfuse tutoring platforms equipped me with the necessary skills for spotting all kinds of flaws and errors.
  3. Expertise in teaching. Since 2011, advancing academic and real-world skills development and cultivating digital learning skills through setting high-quality standards for students (including linguistically and culturally diverse students); deploying cutting-edge strategies; and exceeding expectations with friendly and knowledgeable support.
  4. Expertise in writing. My expert understanding of English and Russian grammar, mechanics, and writing styles combine with the ability to write clear, engaging, and innovative content. Currently, I work with several media content agencies. In addition to researching credible and relevant content and translating materials from other languages, my task is creating original content specifically targeting the client’s geographic location (Russian Federation and the U.S.) and specified audience.
  5. Expertise in digital assets and constant development of my SEO skills. I am driven to employ and showcase my digital literacy skills. I gained first insights into search engine optimization tricks 4 years ago while working for ZeroChaos and being trained by Google. While creating several marketing profiles for my business, I employed a series of skills and techniques that I learned through free and paid webinars, subscriptions, and fruitful networking.
  1. Wide and deep knowledge. I define myself as a Versatilist—a mixture of the generalist, who strives for wide knowledge, and specialist who has deep knowledge in a certain discipline (linguistics, in my case). I have multi-faceted interests and am able to change my specialty at ease. Gaining new competencies, building relationships, and assuming new roles is what I prioritize.
  1. Building relationships all around the world. I take advantage of my ability to speak 4 languages by connecting to diverse communities and using websites not limited to just English- and Russian-speaking communities. I have to report to, communicate, build rapport with project managers, co-workers, and other freelancers on a daily basis.
